Speakers’ Profiles

Mr Steven Quek

Steven Quek is a renowned endurance running coach who helped play a vital role in Singapore’s running scene and building strong foundations in the many runners he trained. His experience includes training national athletes such as Soh Rui Yong and Neo Jieshi. Having earned multiple degrees, Steven also possesses a National Coaching Certification Programme Level 3 certification (Canada, 1995) and an IAAF Academy Diploma in Elite Endurance Training (USA, 2015). He is also a seven-time recipient of the Singapore Sports Council’s ‘Coach Commendation Award’ from 2002 to 2009.

Steven is currently head coach (distance running) in ActiveSG Athletics Club and Hwa Chong Institution (HCI) CrossCountry Team. He is also an adjunct lecturer in the National Institute of Education (NIE, NTU) actively involved in teacher and coach education programmes.

Dr Justin Lee

Dr. Justin Lee gained his bachelor degree in sports coaching and sports science in Australia, his master degree in exercise science and doctorate degree in the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Justin has delivered various lectures for postgraduate and undergraduate courses in local universities focusing on strength & conditioning, sports injury prevention and management. He is a co-author and co-editor of two books, namely “My first gym book” and “My first cycling book”. He has also published more than 30 conference abstracts and a few journal papers in various international journals.

Mr Stone Tsang

Stone is the first Hong Kong Chinese to win Action Asia Challenge, and was 8th & 10th Overall on the Ultra Trail World Tour in 2014 and 2015. He’s been the top Chinese finisher and top 20 overall on multiple occasions in Europe’s UTMB, one of the world’s top mountain running competitions.

Ms Liew Wei Yong

Wei Yong is a personal trainer and managing director of Train Live Compete Pte Ltd (TLC). She has more than 15 years of experience as a personal trainer and running coach and was voted one of the Best Running Coach in Singapore.

Mr Muhd Fadhli

Brought to you by JustRunLah, Fadhli, a Senior Physiotherapist from the Rehab Lab SG, is a spine specialist with a keen interest in running gait analysis for short and middle course running. He was the principal physiotherapist for the national U16 and U18 football team throughout the seasons in 2018. He has vast clinical experiences with the most memorable being treating the first lady of Mozambique.
